One of the first things you should do to deal with mouth-based odors is to consider your oral hygiene routine. Thus, make sure you not only brush your teeth twice a day but that you also floss. One thing to remember is that it can't hurt to brush your tongue and to use mouthwash after brushing. A lot of odors come from the tongue, gums, and throat area. Brushing your tongue and using mouth wash removes harmful bacteria and debris from your mouth.

Anther important thing to do if you want to ward off bad breath is to chew gum. This does not mean you need to pop in a stick every hour, but it does mean that a stick or piece after a meal can go a long way towards oral hygiene. A lot of the time, food will have time to give off an odor before your next brushing. Thus, chewing gum can really help you generate saliva, old food, and debris so that your breath is fresh. The best kind of gum to choose is generally cinnamon.

Often, people have bad breath because they are dehydrated. Thus, it is imperative to drink water throughout the day. Carry a water bottle with you throughout the day so that you can be sure to make drinking water a habit. With time, you will see your health improve and your breath will certainly be as fresh as possible.

And of course, talk to your doctor and dentist about your breath. You may have a medical issue or a bad tooth to deal with. A doctor or dentist may spot something you have not noticed and will definitely have some tricks and tips to help you.

If you follow the above tips, you will no longer have to deal with bad breath or worry that you are stinking up a room every time you speak. Fresh breath really is just around the corner!
